Legal Knowledge Basics Test

Every lawyer, paralegal and legal employee should share a common foundation: the terminology, the main areas of law, the relevant instances, the basics of procedural law. In practice that foundation is often uneven, and sometimes surprisingly thin. A trainee who can't tell a writ from a petition costs a firm more than the first month's salary. The Legal Knowledge Basics Test measures in 20 multiple-choice questions whether a candidate has that baseline. Civil law, criminal law, employment law and procedural law in broad strokes. No specialist detail, but the knowledge you would take for granted at a law firm.

3 Reasons we love this assessment

01
Baseline without specialist detail
No trick questions from a specialist manual. The test checks the knowledge that lets you talk shop at the coffee machine on Monday without embarrassment, and that even non-lawyers in a legal environment need.
02
Four legal fields, one measurement
Civil law, criminal law, employment law and procedural law. The four main areas that anyone in a legal business should be able to place, regardless of their later specialisation.
03
For lawyers and support staff
Not just for lawyers. Paralegals, secretariat, receptionists and HR also benefit from a shared baseline. Prevents both awkward moments and costly slip-ups in administration.
